For years, mad inventor Dan Zen has been psychedelic and digging psychedelic dancing. Now after trying Thai Chi and Yoga and Belly Dancing, he has come to realize that psychedelic dancing is a fantastic free form exercise.
“We are not limited to the structure and monotony of Thai Chi” explains Dan Zen, “nor even the structured story telling of Indian Dances or the Hula. Psychedelic dancing is the story of energy – of freedom and groove!” This makes the dance ideal for exercise as you can go from simple sway to frantic flip outs!
This vlog – click the vlog link above will introduce you to some of the concepts of psychedelic dancing as exercise and we’ll be posting ongoing samples with different psychedelic songs as we go. The feature song in this vlog is Neu’s Hallogallo – some early 70’s German electric mood psychedelia – introduced to me by two people at once – Gaven Dianda and Sam Lades.

That is too funny! A while back all the early videos I made for Zen Mix were lost from Vimeo. I had to locate over 70 videos on my hardrive and upload them to Blip.tv. As it turns out the very first episode of psychedelic dancing as exercise got accidentally replaced by the one currently in this vlog. I never meant for it to be public!
